Since going to the New Orleans School of Cooking on our recent New Orleans trip, we've thought that we should have a party with a theme of "what we learned at the New Orleans School of Cooking". We've now picked a date for this party: Saturday, July 17.

Here's what we learned and would plan to serve:
Shrimp and Artichoke Soup
Crawfish Étouffée (crawfish season will be over, so we'll make some other sort of étouffée)
Gumbo
Jambalaya
Bread Pudding
Pralines

Apparently Louisiana cuisine isn't designed with kosher cooking in mind; we'll arrange things to accommodate our guests who keep kosher.
