When they were building the city of Athens, a contest was held to determine which god the city would be named after. Athena and Poseidon both competed to create the most useful thing and give it to the citizens, that the city might be named after them.
Posiedon created the horse. Athena created the olive tree.

This is not actually relevant, I just remembered it randomly while reading this and wishing I lived in a meritocracy.

I think someone should point out to him that the act he's trying to emulate was done publicly. I just want CNN to catch him dumping Crisco on himself on film. And after that they can point out that it was the wrong oil...
