We Got Signal

A couple of weeks ago, we got the wireless network. The desktop is connected to the firewall, but we got a PCMCIA card for the laptop, and we got Heather's computer connected. And that was good.
But then the laptop that was provided from work got "called home". (It was leased from IBM to another company that was loaning it to us, and the lease had expired.)
When we went up to New England for my sister Laura's graduation, Laura had given us a broken laptop. The keyboard was broken (missing several keys), and it turned out that the hard drive was also defunct. Until now, fixing it had not been much of a priority.
I made a few calls to computer repair places, but didn't find anyone who would do that sort of repair. So I decided to do it myself.
It turns out that it's actually possible to buy a replacement keyboard from IBM. And the price of $48.50 seems very reasonable to me.
I ordered the parts on Thursday. The hard drive arrived Saturday, the keyboard arrived today. With some help from Steve, I've installed both.
It's been able to format the hard drive and type an 'e', both of which it was not previously able to do. Tonight I'll install an operating system on it and a wireless network.
