Ear wax is afflicting me today. I can hardly hear with my ear, and the pain is really dragging me down.

I have the very same annoying problem often. Murine makes an earwax removal kit with a bulb syringy thing. It works fairly well. Failing that, go see your doctor. Failing that, try a jackhammer. :(

Mike actually had a doctor tell him to use a hair pin and brace his hand well, so it wouldn't go in too far (this from a profession that has that "nothing smaller than the end of your elbow rule (which never made any sense to me-- how much of the end is the end?)).

I always heard it as "nothing sharper than your elbow" which basically means "don't stick anything in your ear ever."

Keep in mind that this advice is generally direcred towards kids, who will stick almost anything almost anywhere.

Gee, I dunno. Mike's got awfully sharp elbows... (as do both my kids-- they inherited the Cowper stiletto joints)
