D&D 3.5 Reviews
Jul. 12th, 2003 10:44 pmD&D 3.5 is coming out soon, and our gaming group is among the many that are going to have to decide whether to make the switch.
I'd been hoping for it to be really ultra-fabulous (particularly since I've already pre-ordered the books), but these two reviews from Monte Cook and Sean K. Reynolds (both of whom I respect enough to listen to, but don't always completely agree with) leave me somewhat uncertain. They are mixed reviews, and they leave me feeling, well, mixed.
I'm mentioning them particularly with the intent that they will inform my group's discussion of what switches to make.

Date: 2003-07-12 08:44 pm (UTC)I don't like D&D at the best of times, and I object to spending A$180+ on three new rulebooks that I won't really get any enjoyment out of (I'll happily spend that on other RPG books, if I think they will give me cool ideas, or just be interesting reads).
But having read Monte and Sean's comments, it sounds as though there are some extremely sucky changes in the rules, which will probably make me hate D&D even more.
If I can get away with it, I'll just grab the 3.5 SRD and just use that and save my money.
