Why are they going through my head now, when my ABBA experience has been almost completely limited to a couple of Bjorn Again concerts?

I don't know where it really comes from, but the version I'm most familiar with is a Erasure song, I think.

yes, it is abba. which erasure later covered. and i would point out that in addition to the bnorn again concerts, abba shows up constantly in background music in malls and restaurants and such.
