Blood Donation
Dec. 1st, 2003 11:38 amI gave blood on Wednesday afternoon. It was one of the most painful blood-donation experiences I've had--the phlebotomist was new, and kept missing the vein. Even the more experienced phlebotomist she asked for help had to root around a bit to find it. I still have a bruise today.
I filled up my donation card on this visit; I've now made 12 donations in Pittsburgh--which is really much less than I feel I should have made by now. My jokes about "since I've filled up the card, I get the next one free" appeared to be lost on the staff.

Beware any phlebotomist named 'Vlad'
These and other tasteless (and tasteful) pins brought to you courtesy of Nancy's Buttons.
I always have a wonderful time giving blood. I agree that it's tough to get it back afterwards, if you change your mind.
