ralphmeltonTonight's conversation with the bank providing my Visa card went much like this:
Me: I don't think I deserve this late fee and finance charge. The due date was November 15, and the transaction record on my statement shows that I paid on November 15, even though the account summary on the website says that I paid on November 17.
Her: You're right; it's not supposed to do that, but sometimes something gets bogged down. I'll remove those charges; you'll see a credit on next month's bill.
Me: Thank you very much. I'm completely satisfied.
It was not a contentious discussion by any stretch of the imagination. But I felt a real sense of jubilant victory over the forces of iniquity anyway.
