Game Style Quiz
Aug. 23rd, 2005 06:33 pm You scored as Storyteller. You're more inclined toward the role playing side of the equation and less interested in numbers or experience points. You're quick to compromise if you can help move the story forward, and get bored when the game slows down for a long planning session. You want to play out a story that moves like it's orchestrated by a skilled novelist or film director.

I don't usually post quiz results, but I found this very telling--the three-way tie between 'Butt-Kicker', 'Storyteller', and 'Tactician' reflects why I have so much trouble fitting those pigeonholes.

Date: 2005-08-24 12:44 am (UTC)When I did this quiz last week, the results didn't describe me very well. What they did describe pretty well was the roleplayer I wanted to become.
When you look closely at many of the questions, it's often asking about what you'd like, not what you do. The presented results confuse preferences with actions. In my case, saying "Storyteller" and "Method Actor" when in fact if you look at my roleplaying in practice I'm really much nearer to a mix of "casual gamer" and "specialist" (which it rated quite a bit lower).
The reasons are straightforward - I simply don't get to do enough roleplaying to develop the skills I need to roleplay the way I'd like to.
As a description of what I'd like it was kind of interesting (though not particularly new to me - I am self aware enough to have figured it out myself), but I think I'd have been happier if the description above the results described them as your preferences, not as "what you are".
