My birthday is coming up tomorrow.
I've had a dickens of a time identifying things I want for my birthday. I always do, but this year is worse than usual.
I have a backlog of books to read and DVDs to watch;
I don't have much music I'm looking for;
I'm wary of food gifts because I'm trying to lose weight.
The positive way to phrase this is that I am pretty content with my life, and I want for little. And this is basically true. But it's vexing for Lori.
Ironically, I've found a few things to desire, but they weren't suitable to be given by others. I bought a pair of Birkenstock sandals today, but they needed me to try them on. And I bought a pair f speakers for my office, but those needed me to select them, and needed me to use my Apple employee badge to get my discount.
At Lori's instigation, I'm taking tonight to finally see what it's like to play WoW on the 30-inch monitor in my office, without any suspicion that Lori might be preparing anything at home.
