I am breathing a great sigh of relief.

I had a 'we DEMAND this behavior' bug that I had no idea how to implement. An informative response to my desperate plea for help turned it from a bug I had no idea how to fix into a bug that was easy to fix.

Happens all the time to me.

"We want X!"
"I'm not sure that will do what you want, much less if it's possible at all. What are you trying to do?"
"Well, we want it to do Y and Z, and X should be the way to do that."
"Ah, you want me to do ABC then, that'll fix it so Y and Z work. Watch."

[plea to a mailing list] "How do you do X?"
"Here's how:..."
