Hmpf. Must find a reliable way to save LJ posts in progress on the iPad. LiveJournal.app has lost posts in progress, autosave on the website has just lost an hour of work, post by email has lost some posts.

Yeah, LiveJournal.app looked way better to me before it ate a post I was halfway through. Do you think using a mail draft and then cut and pasting manually would work?

I used Notes and cut-and-paste for my most recent attempt, but a mail draft would probably work too.

Does the iPad support emacs?

Not under that name, in my quick check. But my suspicion is that using emacs on an iPad would be like trying to hammer with a saw.
