Barbecue Conference

I wouldn't call myself truly wise in the ways of barbecue, but I wish I'd gone to the conference described in this article: http://www.nytimes.com/2002/10/23/dining/23BBQ.html . Some of the questions debated, like "why is barbecue a white thing in some places and a black thing in others?" sound interesting.
