For one Sunday dinner (August 25, if I recall correctly), I felt in a mood for grilling hot dogs before the summer ended.

I also made some burgers to suit people who were wary of hot dogs. The recipe was simple: a pound of ground beef, a packet of onion soup mix, a generous splash of Worcestershire sauce, and a splash of liquid smoke.

But this simple recipe produced amazingly yummy burgers. They were really wonderfully tasty. Mmm...

These were tasty, and I have to remember to try this sometime. For the folks who eat their burgers with cheese, I wonder what the optimal cheese would be for this combination of ingredients.

My guess would be provolone--strong enough to have a flavor of its own to add, mild enough that the flavors wouldn't fight it out.
